Williamson Park Spring Series event

Despite an amber weather warning for strong winds the latest SROC event went ahead mainly in susshine with a stiff breeze. Paricipants varied from first-timers to old hands, and all seemed to enjoy the challenges of navigating around the park. Results are on-line here and RouteGadget, where you can view others' routes and add your own, is here. There was a small amount of lost property found around the start area. If you have lost a hat or a glove please email results@sroc.org with a description of the item.

Night Street League Finale

The eleventh and final event in the 2023-2024 NSL season was held in warm but wet conditions from the Water Witch in Lancaster, followed by the annual league prizegiving. Duxbury Park

The first 2024 Spring Series event took place in the surprisingly rugged terrain of Duxbury Park in Chorley. A goodly mix of seasoned and novice orienteers helped to make the event a success. Results are on-line here, and RouteGadget is ready for your routes here.

Final Street League event and prize giving

Please note the the final street League event takes place in just one week on Wednesday March 13 with a mass start at 7pm. Please bring your SI card for recording your finish time.

Food needs to be ordered in advance. No food orders will be taken on the night. The pub have asked that I let them know food orders 48hr in advance so please can anyone who wants food after their run, email me on rowenacbrowne@gmail.com by Monday evening. Carnforth street league event

Last night saw the 9th night street league event in the current season, held on a new Carnforth map. The weather was kind and a good turnout enjoyed the course planned by John Embrey. RouteGadget is ready for your routes. League tables will be updated in due course.

SROC in the CompassSport final!

SROC hosted an extremely successful qualifying round for the national clubs championships, the CompassSport Cup for large clubs and Trophy for smaller clubs. Interesting courses were made even better by early Spring weather, most folk completing their runs in sunshine.In a close fought match LOC took first place with in the Cup with 2458 points, followed by WCOC on 2413 and DEE on 2316. In the Trophy competition SROC on 1288 points were just ahead of BL who scored 1278, and PFO on 1241.

There were some fine individual performances on the SROC team with maximum points going to David Roome, John Embrey (club captain), Ben, Ellie, Maisie and James Todhunter and Martyn Roome. See all the results, both team and individual here. RouteGadget is here.
